Can you take my dog ?

Sometimes we can.  Often, it is the small dogs (<20 lbs) that are easy to find homes for and we may be able to help.  Often, we just can’t.  If you visit our 5 3 About Us page you can see why.  Our house will only hold so many and still have room for us.  If a behavior problem has brought you to this point, consider sending your dog to prison for a few weeks for some training or find a local trainer to help you.  (See our 5 9 Express Train Page). 

If you can keep your dog until you find a new home for him, we can help by listing him on our web site.  Send us up to 3 photos (one close up of the face, one with the dog in profile next to someone’s legs and another that shows his personality—the best ones are taken in natural light), a written description and both an email address and telephone number that will be monitored regularly.

Can you help me get my dog fixed?

Yes we can if you can drive to Chesterton or Porter, Indiana.  Send us an email!

I have an emergency (fire, domestic violence, natural disaster, physical injury/accident) and can’t go home.  Can you help me?

Yes we can.  Please call or email us or have a friend do so immediately, day or night.  If we can’t answer, please leave a message and we will return the call as soon as possible.

Myself or my family member has to go into a nursing home or assisted living.  Can you help us find a place for the pets?

Yes we can.  Please call or email us.

I can’t afford to feed my dog.  Can you help me?

Yes we can if you can drive to LaPorte, IN or live within 10 miles.  Please call or email us.

I have a question that isn’t listed here.

Call the number below and talk to Cris.  If he can’t answer, leave a message and he will call you back.  If you don’t hear from him in what you consider a timely manner, call again.  He is a volunteer and answers calls and messages at all times of day and night between his work and family responsibilities.
